Meet Jeff

Jeff Charnel is a lifelong Brockton resident, community leader, and commercial banker with a deep commitment to helping the city thrive. As Chairman of the License Commission and a volunteer on multiple local boards, Jeff has spent years working to make city services more accessible, champion small businesses, and empower the next generation of civic leaders.

He’s running for City Councilor At-Large to bring practical solutions and community-first leadership to Brockton’s City Council.

A Lifelong Brocktonian. A Proven Leader. A Voice for Progress.

Jeff Charnel was born and raised in Brockton, and everything he’s achieved in life — from graduating Brockton High to becoming a Vice President at a local bank — is rooted in this city. His story is Brockton’s story: hardworking, community-driven, and focused on building a better future together.

Now, Jeff is running for City Councilor At-Large to give back to the city that raised him — and to make city government more responsive, efficient, and equitable for everyone who calls Brockton home.

Invested in Brockton from the Beginning

Jeff graduated from Brockton High in 2005 and earned his degree from Newbury College in 2010. He built his professional career in community and commercial banking, and currently serves as a Vice President and Commercial Lender with North Easton Savings Bank.

But Jeff’s commitment to the community goes beyond his career. Over the years, he’s served on key local boards and organizations — including School on Wheels, NeighborWorks Housing Solutions, and the Old Colony YMCA. He’s also an active member of the Brockton Rotary Club, where he currently serves as President, and he was appointed by the Mayor to lead the City’s License Commission as Chairman.

Jeff’s leadership is marked by collaboration, pragmatism, and a deep belief in Brockton’s potential.

Practical Solutions. Local Impact. Real Results.

Jeff is stepping up to serve because he believes Brockton deserves a city government that works better for everyone — no matter your zip code, background, or income level. He knows how hard it can be for residents and business owners to navigate city processes, and he wants to make government more effective and efficient.

As a Councilor At-Large, Jeff will focus on:

  • Streamlining city services (like permits and licensing)

  • Expanding access to economic opportunity for small businesses and local developers

  • Strengthening civic education and engagement, especially for underrepresented communities

  • Championing smart development and revitalization that benefits the whole city

Leadership You Know. Commitment You Can Trust.

Jeff believes that the best ideas come from conversations — not just city hall. That’s why he’s committed to keeping an open door, listening to all sides, and working across neighborhoods and communities to build lasting change.

Whether it’s answering your email, helping your business get off the ground, or bringing a new voice to council debates, Jeff will be a Councilor who shows up, follows through, and always puts Brockton first.
